Much of Britain’s heritage is concealed in churches and religious buildings that are being recorded by TAS volunteers. Church Recording volunteers make a complete record of the contents and fabric of individual churches, which is then presented to the church and a copy placed in the County Archives.

Our group has completed surveys at Tolland, Monksilver and Angersleigh and Staplegrove churches; and the record and a new altar frontal for Angersleigh was presented to the congregation in November 2010 (as the photo). More detailed images of the restoration work at Angersleigh can be seen on the gallery. St Peter, Langford Budville was completed in 2015, and that for St Peter and St Paul, Runnington, was completes in 2019. The current project is at St. George, Sampford Brett. They are always looking for more volunteers, training is given.

The group meets fortnightly on Mondays from 10am to noon. For more information please contact Lucy Devitt using the 'Contact Us' link.
